Ed Sheeran: 'I give my awards away as party favours'

We've come up with some alternative uses for his trophies...

Ed Sheeran has won a fair few awards for his songwriting/guitar strumming talents over the past couple of years - but rather than buiding a special room for the many gongs he's revealed that actually, he's been giving them away.

OH BLOODY HELL EDWARD YOU MIGHT REGRET THAT LATER.

Yep, speaking about his gazillion trophies Eddie Spageddi informed the Daily Star that he can't really be fussed with all that cabinet shizz, and would prefer pals to take home a bit of his success when they pop round Chez Sheeran.

"I have my awards stacked up by the door and people take them as party favours when they come round," he said.

"There are only so many you can put out on the wall without looking like a douche bag, so I prefer for my friends to celebrate my success as well and have it in their living room. All of my friends have them."

Well that's very nice, as long as he doesn't fall out with said friends. We imagine there'd be a 'geniune Ed Sheeran Award' cropping up on eBay pretty sharpish if that were to happen.

Now, we're all for being generous, but we can't help thinking that Ed missed a trick when he started handing out his gongs willy nilly. In fact, here's five things (off the top of our heads) that he could have done with his awards:

1. Build a water feature out of them in his back garden.

2. Name each one and dress it up in teeny tiny baby clothes, then introduce them to friends as 'my special family' whenever they come round.

3. Pile them up outside Taylor Swift's dressing room door, trapping her inside. All in the name of a 'hilarious prank', obviously.

4. Use them to play a variation of bowls, in which all players have to chuck an award as close as they can to a print out of Rupert Grint's face.

5. Stick them together in the shape of a woman, then tell everyone she's his 'trophy wife'.
