Chick

WYOMING, MI - A senior executive from Chick-fil-A, a controversial but popular chicken-focused fast food restaurant chain eyeing West Michigan for expansion, is speaking this month at a Wyoming church.

Mark Miller, vice president of training and development for Chick-fil-A, will speak twice on Sunday, July 28 at Grand Rapids First Assembly of God, a church located at 2100 44th Street SW.

Miller, who co-authored the book "The Secret: What Great Leaders Know and Do," will talk to regular church services at 9 and 11 a.m.

The theme of each 45 minute talk is servicing leadership, said the church.

Miller wont be the first senior Chick-fil-A executive to visit West Michigan this year. In April, company strategic manager Mark Conklin talked to Cornerstone University students about how " Biblical principles make great business principles."

The church brought Miller in through a member who met Miller at a conference. The church has hosted controversial speakers in the past, including self-styled former 'terrorist' Kamal Saleem and mobster turned born-again Christian Michael Franzese.

In a statement, the church praised Chick-fil-A's Christian approach to business.

"Chick-fil-A is one of the most successful corporations in America. Their corporate purpose is to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to them and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A. Pastor Sam Rijfkogel, Senior Pastor, is excited to have Mark encourage and inspire others as he shares his life-giving experience with Christ and his passion for great leaders."

Miller's appearance is free and open to the public.
