In a recent interview with The Mirror, British crooner Ed Sheeran was asked about Miley Cyrus (seriously, it must be absolutely demoralizing to be a musician right now trying to do some promo and the only thing everyone wants to talk to you about is this other artist and her ass-shaking). Anyway, Sheeran was quick to compliment Cyrus, saying, "I think she's got an amazing voice."
But he immediately followed that with a critique of her new bad girl image. "I just think she's packaged the wrong way," Sheeran said. "When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song, but the video distracts too much from it."
Sheeran also took issue with the way twerking has been portrayed post-Miley. "I think encouraging young people to twerk might be a bad thing. It's a stripper's move. If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn't want her twerking." But what if that twerking makes her millions of dollars??
Do you think Sheeran's being too puritanical, or does he have a point? Let us know in the comments.
